Leg Joints

A closer look at the mechanics behind the Drone's instant takedown.

The Drone was designed for instant setup and takedown. It is critical that you takedown your Drone safely and correctly to ensure your tent will last for many adventures to come. We’ve prepared a step-by-step guide and video tutorial to help you master the five minute take down.

Before you begin setting up your Drone, be sure to:
- Be careful that your fingers are not caught while releasing leg joints or handling stakes.
- Do not leave a child or children unattended in or near the Drone while you are disassembling the tent.
- Two or more people are recommended for tent assembly and disassembly.

Disassembly Instructions:
Step One: Ensure all accessories are removed from the Drone and windows and doors are shut. Remove stakes and rainfly.
Step Two: Release bottom joint by pushing leg inward at joint and sliding bottom joint collar downwards. Repeat on all bottom joints.
Step Three: Release middle joints by pushing leg inward at joint and sliding left joint collar to the left. Repeat on all middle joints while allowing the bottom of the Drone to fold inwards at bottom joints.
Step Four: Release top joint by pushing leg downward at joint and sliding bottom joint collar downwards. Repeat on all top joints. Take care not to step on leg poles at any point. Allow roof to collapse inward at the top joints as all leg joints are released.
Step Five: Bring leg poles inward, furling the tent gradually. Bunch leg poles together. Turn Drone onto its side on floor if needed.
Step Six: Fasten with securing straps and pack into carry bag. Store in a dry, safe location until your next adventure.

Things You Should Know:
- Never store your Drone, even for a short period of time, without drying it thoroughly and brushing off caked dirt or debris.
- Stakes should be removed by pulling on the stake itself. Never pull on the tent to remove stakes which could result in damage to your Drone or injury.
- Do not leave your Drone set up for weeks at a time. Be aware that exposure to direct sunlight can seriously damage material and/or cause discoloration.
- Sand can damage the leg pole joints. Take extra care when setting up and taking down your Drone on sandy terrain to keep sand from entering joints.
